I and my companions; the celebrated stars of the Milan Opera, 'The Great Cezarare', and his gorgeous wife Chiara Cicero, are stopped at the front entance and our passports are requested for examination. This is only to be expected under the circumstances.

As luck would have it the officer is an old school chum Effendi Mufti, and he knows me well. He is quite awe struck by the Cicero's, and they graciously oblige him with their autographs.

"Do you know anything about this old friend?"

There is very little information that I can give him about the crime. I was distrubed from my sleep, and left the hotel early. I had been visiting the Pyramids for the day with the Ciceros. There have been a number of unusual unsavory types mixed in with the prestigious notables. I advise my friend to make a careful check of the hotel registy and question everyone. "The captian thinks he has the right man," my friend tells me. "Well if he does not you would certianly advance your own career by finding the right one, I suggest to my friend.

"They think it is a fellow who threatened the deceased."

"Well Mufti, I would find out all I could about the victim and if their might be other enemies here at this very hotel. Who are all of these French people filling up the place?" I can see that I have given my friend some food for thought. He thanks me and my friends and I proceed to the salon.

As an afterthought, I say to Mufti, "Do not forget to question every member of the staff. Unseen eyes and ears are everywhere you know. Sift for the truth, who knows what revelations you may find, then soon dear friend you may find yourself made captian."
