Ah, yes, memories of sitting in my dorm room between classes with "Beauty and the Beat" blasting on the turntable. Brenda and the gals were the first "cool" girl band I was exposed to and enjoyed.

It wasn't until years later that I realized they weren't that talented musically. Oh, well, the commercial packaging worked on me at the time!
