"Your suite, Monsieur," the porter says, opening the door to Room 140.
"You're not so bad yourself," I reply dryly. My pun produces nothing but the pained look of confusion on the porter's face, and after a moment of awkward silence I hold out my hand to receive the key. "Thank you."
I am left to settle into my new digs, which are much to my satisfaction. The decor is a pleasant mix of classical Egyptian themes and modern art. Electric light sconces adorn the walls, casting a marvellous spell about the room. The suite will prove to be an idyllic songcrafting atmosphere. The French doors behind the grand piano open into a terrace with room for a small orchestra - adjacent to a café - when outdoor entertainment is in season.
Now, time to change out of my travelling clothes and into something more comfortable.
