in a garbled mix of - well, even she didn't know. Her hand quickly flying to her mouth to be sucked on, it was only then she realized how deep the gash really was. She cursed again. Admittedly, she shouldn't have been paying as close attention as she should've, her mind wandering. That scene at dinner... odd. She wondered if John was alright? Maybe she should check up on him in the morning, just to be sure. Ripping the tablecloth of the small patio table, she quickly bandaged her hand before she dripped any more blood all over the place. She should've just gone back to bed, even though sleep continued to elude her.
Something unusual up on the balcony above her head caught her attention. She couldn't tell exactly, since she was underneath it, but it didn't seem quite right.
"Hey! You couldn't sleep either, huh?" She called up to him in as loud a whisper as she could manage. He just stopped and looked down at her, the sliver of moonlight casting a dim silhouette of him. Then he rushed back inside.
Huh. Well, it really wasn't her business to poke around in other people's business anyway. Suddenly she felt the chills, very aware that she was out alone on the ground floor in almost total darkness. Porcia too hurried back in, locking the door behind her, and sent for some late night coffee.
