She rose from her chair and her eye catches the glance of another gentleman who was watching the entire situation. Hmmm, very handsome man, she thought... what in the world was his name? Some American with an Italian name?... where did he get that scar? From the war?

Lady Marjorie approached him and he quickly rose from his chair and and took her hand, "Lady Folcwalding, how are you this morning?"

Marjorie smiled and said, "Lady Marjorie, please! No ceremony! I'm very well, though I heard the shocking news... Mr.... emmm...?" she trailed off uncertainly and he came to her rescue.

"Delighted!" Lady M sat down and a waiter quickly approached her. "Cafe, please," she ordered.

"Now, Lady Marjorie, please tell me, what shocking news?" John James persisted.

"Apparently there was a kidnapping - haven't you heard? Lady Ramesses was abducted!" The waiter appeared and placed a steaming cup of coffee on the table in front of her. She primly picked up the cup and took a lady-like sip.

John James looked at Marjorie with astonishment. "Good God, does anyone know why? Have the police been notified?"

"I haven't a clue... yet." Marjorie answered coolly. "I was hoping to get more information... care to make some inquiries with me?"
