seemed to imply that you had said that lilja. I am responding in general. Please don't take anything I post to be directed at you on a personal level. You have formulated your ideas and beliefs the same way I have. We take in infomation that is available to us and weight it against what we already know or believe. I realize much of what you say is taken from information you receive from others, and that makes sense to you. I do the same thing. I take in a great deal of information keeping what I deem to be good and useful, and disregarding that which I find unhelpful or disturbing. As individuals we may see the same thing in entirely different ways though. I'm a very practical person and often pare things down to their bare bones application. For example.
There are many theories as to what causes murderers to murder. Or criminals to live the life of crime. You touched on several issues such as, evolution of the human brain, scocial structure of primates, and even studies on mothers milk. While I personally agree that human breast milk and close contact mothering of human infants would be extremely beneficial to our society. I hardly think you would talk our society into reverting back to the ways of our forebearers with the promise of a more sensitive and gentle society. Especially if they look back at the violent periods of those bygone days and asked "what was up with that, not enough breastmilk?"

Thousands of people march to war who are not motivated by "murderous rage". They participate for a wide variety of reasons and are seldom motivated by "rage" I'm afraid.
I believe it is a narrow vision that blames our undesireable behaviour on "reptilian passion" as carl sagan has suggested. I know he was an acclaimed scientist of the 20th century, but I take many of his postulations with a grain of salt.
He looked at everything with an evolutionist slant.(Remember that while the theory of evolution is commonly accepted as fact as to the beginning of life on this planet in the world today. It is still an unproven set of disconnected suppositions. It is not proven fact.)
Carl Sagan said this: ("We wish to find the truth, no matter where it lies. Quote from carl sagan.
We will not be afraid to speculate, but we will be careful to distinguish speculation from fact.")

The problem lies herein, many people are expounding the speculation to be hard and true fact. Narrow minded evolutionists who blame our undesireable behaviour on our R-complex, in my mind are the same as religionists who disregard everything except their own pet beliefs and traditions.

Let us open our minds and look for the truth together. Let's not assume we have the truth and kill each other to prove it.
