    I think Gandalf said the morgul-blade wound would never really heal when they were in Rivendell for the Council. Maybe I am remembering wrong, however.
    BUT it would make sense that his weakness in giving up the ring at Orodruin may have been caused by the physical weakness brought on by the wound. A point to ponder, that is for sure!
