What I know of the man comes solely from tv, specifically "The Mysterious World Of Arthur C. Clarke" & in that show he spent his entire life wandering up and down a Sri Lankan beach, half-naked and wielding a sun umbrella, attended by a couple of Asian rent boys. (I think that is why they called it the "Mysterious" world of AC Clarke...)

Now, with tsunamis hitting the shoreline and the high winds I assume are associated with such extreme weather conditions, I do not believe a large sun parasol would have been a wise accessory in recent conditions. Is there any news? Did at least a couple of the catamites get out alive?
