I have read several good reviews for Egyptian Warfare and Weapons while doing research for this group. (BTW there aren't too many books on the subject.) I added it to my Amazon wish list last month and will probably purchase it myself if I don't receive it as a gift.

Ian Shaw's The Oxford History of Ancient Egypt is one of my favorite books on ancient Egyptian history. I am sure his other works are just as good. I would say go for it Bucephalus.
