Heraklia Aelius kindly allowed me to cross-post here an article she wrote about General Stilicho, a fascinating example of the conflicted synergy of those times between Romans and Barbarians. I add with a certain pride, because I like it very much, that I've seen the famous dyptich "in person", even twice, in two separate exhibitions. I think I have Stendhal's Syndrome. :D
