suffers from the same fate as Alexandria By Egypt. It was a great success and it is till occupied. It is now called,Khojend, and is in Kyrgyzstan.
The current issue of Archaeology Magazine has some small bits of information about it, but not much. The problem in both cases is that it is covered with occupied residences. You can’t just throw someone out of their home and start digging. Can you imagine what is under Alexandria Egypt? What a field day! the same is true of Alexandria Eschate, but to a much lesser extent.
The author of the article about Alexander in Central Asia asks for more world cooperation in the archaeological digs there. The truth is there cannot be much, other than a few artifacts which, I think would not interest most universities.
I think the most interesting thing which has been uncovered is a fifth century Greek ceramic. That was old when Alexander was there. They must have been very carefully handled.
