I like your comments, Dravidia, about the possibility of elves as real. I hadn't heard that theory before so it is certainly interesting!!

Both you and Indis brought up a good point: that the elves are so awed by other races that they have been put upon a pedistal that they do not always deserve. I admit I am looking at Feanor from another point of view now that has really got me thinking, or perhaps rethinking, my take on the elves. You are so right, Indis, when you say that the Valar may have loved the elves - but they really shouldn't try to keep them nearby for their own pleasure. Nor should they assume all the skills they taught them should only be used to create items for the Valar.
