    Em Hotep!

I have just finished reading a magnificent series of books by the French eygptologist Christian Jacq on the Liberty Queen, Ahotep (Egyptian name: Iâh-hotep, meaning "the god Moon be made manifest"), who lived around 1690 BC, when Egypt was occupied by the cruel Hyksos, whose king, Apophis, ruled with an iron hand. After the death of her Pharaoh husband, she became regent and proved by womanly prowess and heroic stamina to liberate the land of Kemet. Her sons, Kamès, and later Ahmosis, would begin the famous XVIII dynasty, which included Hatchepsout and Amenophis IV (Akhennaton).

This author's books have been translated many languages, including English; they make fascinating historical and cultural reading and give excellent background information on ancient Egyptian religious and magical beliefs.

May Ma'at be with you always,
    Jot
