Just as soon as the lady walks in the place, she is out of her seat and out of the door. "Was it something I said?" I asked myself outloud. I shake it off, and dive back into my bottle. The celebration is loud and joyous. Yet I sit alone at the bar. I look about the room and see many familiar faces. Yet even more unfamiliar ones. I take another sip from my bottle and get up to walk around.
The place has become almost unbearably crowded, and I make my way to the door. As I break though the crowd and reach the exit, I take a deep breath of the fresh air. ‘It is good to be back,’ I think to myself. ‘But something just doesn’t feel the same.’ I look up and down the road, and see that no new structures have been built since I was here last. It has been such a long time, perhaps I have changed through my journeys.
I look back in through the door at the celebration, and wish my heart could be that light again. I shake my head and head around to the rear entrance. Just as I am about to enter the kitchen the small waitress creeps open the door. “Well hello there.” I saw in a loud voice. She jumps, but without making a sound. She nods to me and smiles and then heads down the alley behind The Arena. I shrug my shoulders and then head inside. A pot of stew sits over the fire, brewing. ‘Doesn’t she know how to cook anything else?’ I think to myself. Not wanting to go up to my room, I leave the kitchen the way I came in and decide to go for a walk.
