Just as many of you I've been searching the net for acceptable replacement sites for the lost AS.

For a while, PanHistoria was quite good, but as it grew, it got potentially slower which I believe is a major drawback.
Also, for a while, CommunityZero had great potential, and there were many 'old' friends there, but they became 'greedy' and recently started asking money for their services, which, I think, is a major drawback for many people.

A great site was ATWAS (All The World is A Stage), currently going under the name of HistoricalRoleplay, which is still quite good, but again, a tad slow to my personal liking.

My good friend Dutch Hogers, (which some of you may remember from his daring stories in Ships and Sailors and The Knickenbockers) has signed up at RapidForum and created TheLostWorlds Forums there as an alternative for any of the sites (worlds) lost on the internet in time.

These forums are currently quite empty, but show great potential, as they have an open policy to whom is accepted as a member, and they also have a memberpanel and shortmessageservice, and as a bonus: Dutch has setup a personal server that listens to the name: http://www.thelostworlds.com for reference and additional services, such as: FREE homespace plus FTP-access and a FREE 2Mb mailbox for ALL successfully registered members of the Forums.

Dutch has promised that the FREE services will remain FREE and only if you want to upgrade your FREE mailbox with more space or more aliases, there will be a quite reasonable annual fee.
Currently, there are about 38 members and the list is slowly but steadily growing.

The Lost Worlds are part of the AS-cyberdiaspora webring.
The Forums are accessible for everyone to read, if you want to contribute, there are a few areas where anonymous users may post, otherwise you need to register and get all the FREE services as a bonus. (How terrible.)

I know it's not apropiate to promote other sites in a discussion forum, but I believe this might interest you.
After all, you are free to do as you please with this information.

    Blessed Be!
