    Yes, I remember Rivendell's description in Tolkien - the last homely home. I agree. It sounded very much like a huge log in upstate New York's Adirondack Mountains.

    Bilbo sat beside the fire and sang songs? Hmm? "I sit beside the fire and think of all that I have seen......"

    Still, those wonderful waterfalls in the film are not to be forgotten.
