Apulia just mentioned Rivedell, a suggessted view of it. I disagree with Jackson's view of Rivendell for similar reasons I disagree with his view of Lothlorien. I see Rivendell with more of a lodge feeling being, also, deep in the woods with these large fire places and large rooms where people can gather and listen to songs and tales. A more rustic feel to blend in with the woods, or be part of the woods. Between Jackson's view of Lothlorien and Rivendell, I prefer his view of Rivendell.
