Something that always impressed me was the fact that etruscan language is based in the greek alphabet but it hasn't the same meaning (am I right Tan?*s*). I remember hearing an etruscan specialist(a german, I think) to say that he could perfectly read it but not understand it. I have several questions here, even if they are a little silly... Is it known if the etruscans had only one language or several dialects? Why the greek alphabet? Could we say then that greeks and etruscans have the same origins and oriental ones? How is it possible that etruscan language dissapered completly? Yes, I know we can say the same about other civilizations but if someone has a good idea, I would like to hear about it. I'm really curious!*S*
