There is something about the difference between Miss and Ma'am. If a handsome young Johnny Depp look alike calls me miiss, I consider it respectful. However, When an Old crone waives her coffee mug at mee and hollors "ma'am, ma'am" It's rude and reminds me of an old lady like herself. Who wants to be called Ma'am? Vort is right, titles are for bums.
In Arthurian times, was everyone condisered, Lady so and so? Cause I don't think being called lady Victoria is all that great either. Now, write my name on AW bathroom wall and I'm honored!
