Near the early morning hours of dawn, somewhere in Northern Italy, a small group of horsemen rode furiously Northwest toward the port-city of Narbo, capital of Gallia Narbonensis.
Their leader, the recently appointed Propraetorial Legate, Decimus Furius Medullinus headed the forepart of the company, his praetorial lictors riding behind on his flanks. Decimus had been tasked with retrieving the legions currently held by the former Propraetor Arminius Terentius Felinus, a task that he presently felt very apprehensive about. This feeling stemed from the words of his brother, who had warned him that he may have to come against Arminius in order to restore control of the forces. Considering the fact that Caius Valerius Flaccus had not ordered Arminius himself to bring the legions to Rome. This would mean one of two things, one, that Flaccus doubted the mans abilities as a general, or that Terentius had turned nuetral or even worse, traitorous. The latter seemed to be the more logical choice, since the man had been Propraetor of Narbonensis for nearly three years. Usually men of such honor would be skilled in all aspects of Roman life, which included military compitence.
So what was he too do? Should he place his fate in the hopes that Arminius Terentius Felinus and his administration were still loyal to the Republic or that they would accept the legitemecy of his imperium?
He had heard descriptions of the mans character before, briefly in trivial conversations, but it was unfathomable to him then that he may be pitted against the man. Nevertheless, he could not recall any instances in which sour words were said about him or flaws of character dicussed. This was not to say the man had none.
ORDERS: Decimus Furius Medullinus is riding for Narbo with the utmost urgency, making only necessary stops, to rest and to eat. He will abstain from meeting with the Praetor or sending word ahead of his arrival, he will wait until arriving within the outskirts of Narbo to act next.
ARBITER: Please notify me once I arrive.
(OOC): Arminius, I hope that you will not utilize the information your character should have no knowledge about, right?
