    Whoa!! And here I never realized what an impish sense of scarlet humor you have, dear - I knew from Chaucer that the Anglo-Saxon sense of humor was considered "earthy" (I recall being told that "turd" is one of those gen-u-wine AS words, short and - ahem! - pungent).

    My guess, since it's so obvious that it's NOT what it seems, is a key to his house.

    Did the Saxons have keys? *DUH*
