When I looked at Julia, it was clear that she had some rough times. But by then, I could not guess how rough. But she looked serene. In my mind, I was repeating the verses I had been reading: "Thy body is a naturall Paradise, In whose selfe, unmanur'd, all pleasure lies, Nor needs perfection; why shouldst thou then Admit the tillage of a harsh rough man."
"When did you arrive, dear friend?" And I waited. "Not long ago, I came directly here... Things really did not work out, Phil and I, we are divorced." I can't say I was surprised: "You can stay here as long as you wish, I just want to see you smile."
"Thank you, I knew I could count on you. I am going to start anew. I think I am selling my house and need your help. I was never happy there."
"Wonderful!... let's go walk outside and talk about your plans."
