Harald called for more ale and watched from a corner of the hall as the inhabitants of the Boar came and went, stopped and snored. The festivities last night more than made up for the exhaustion of a long journey, particularly watching Amalasuntha almost get carried off.
It was morning now and there were sounds in the kitchen that gave him hope that there would be fresh bread and more to eat. Harald picked up his horn and went outside to watch the sun rise higher in the sky. His time at the Boar had been good. Reflecting on that, he did not look forward to continuing his journey.
