bustling, but there were many folk in, now that the day was drawing to a close. Many were coming for a mug or two before making their way home for a meal with their family, but there were one or two travellers here, too. Cadfan hadn't really seen the need to take on extra help, just yet, since he had never been so rushed that he couldn't keep up with the customers. However, soon he would have to employ somebody to tend to the food,w hile he tended the counter, and watched for trouble. Not that he had had any, since he opened up, these Catuvellauni folk seemed mostly peaceful, when at home, but experience had told him that they were brave fighters.
He swept up the coins that the group of leatherworkers had left on the table, to pay for the ale they had just been given, and then, noticing there were no others needing anything, he went and joined his friend, Rhys.
"So,whut's all this 'bout a scrap, Rhys?" The Man looked at Cadfan, his expression grave. "Oh,come on, Rhys, it be me, Cadfan, yer know I'm no gonna spill me guts ter th' first stranger as comes in 'ere, man!"
Rhys grinned and slapped his old comrade on the shoulder "Cadfan, you know I shouldn't tell you things that might be overheard in this place."
"Then yer kin wait anuther hour or two, if'n yer got a mind, Rhys. Me Inn's no place that's open till th' dawn, yet, 'twill be, yer mark me words, but no yet."
"Well, perhaps another drink or two, if you have better than this watered mead!" Cadfan glared at Rhys' burst of laughter as his name was bellowed from the other side of the room.
"Yer keep comin' back, though, I see, yer mangy son of a dog!"
Rhys only laughed more, as Cadfan scowled and made his way back across the Inn floor to see to his customers.
