The following message was left for me yesterday by the group leader: (Note: the first paragraph is a message I had left for her approximately a week ago.)

"I will be more than happy to take a second read of my posts if you are willing to do the same. I find it inflammatory when you refer to rituals and items within the Jewish culture as being symbols of Jesus. That is a complete misrepresentation of my religion and far more imflammatory than anything I have written thus far. I will use as an example your reference to the menorah as being symbolic of Jesus. The menorah is representative of a miracle during the destruction of the second temple. It has nothing whatsoever to do with Jesus."

As I practice my religion or for better wording, "relationship" with the God I worship in Christianity, which is rooted in Judaism. Jesus is relavent. Andas a figurative if not literal representation throughout Judaism. You have the right to disagree as does anyone else. BUT YOU DO NOT HAVE THE RIGHT TO PUT BASTARD AND THE GOD I SERVE IN THE SAME SENTENCE. THOSE TYPES OF POSTS ARE FLAMING. AND YOU'VE ALREADY BEEN WARNED. I don't disrespect your views you have the right to believe the way you choose, and also to post an alternate view, BUT you don't have the right to infringe on others rights to their beliefs; to the point you would even consider calling someone elses God a bastard or questioning in an inflammatory way the legitamcy of that God. You can differ yes you can disagree yes but refrain from derogatory flaming statements that you have been warned about before.

For the record, my use of the word bastard was neither a flame or a derogatory statement. It was strictly in response to a point posed by Shammah in explanation of the Jewish view on heredity and adoption. Shammah and I were engaged in a frank discourse that we hoped others might join.

Hephzibah has made my ability to voice my opinion on Judaism an untenable position. I joined this group for the enjoyment of discussing the history of my people and my religion. Ironically, such discussion has been "ghettoized" to one thread by the leader of this group even though she claims that this group is for the discussion of such.

I believe Hephzibah has an agenda that is counter to open and honest discussion and as such, I am unable to continue.

You will notice that Yehudit's name no longer appears on the group rolls as well. She chose to leave without a word; I chose to make a resigning statement.

I spoke with Shammah previously and explained this action. I wish him, and all of you, the best in the future.

I would, however, warn the group to take anything said on this board about Judaism with a grain of salt as I have found many misrepresentations. There is cause for concern when the Jewish members of a group about the history of Jews feel pressured to leave.

    Shalom,

    Meshullom
