After examining the coin, I agree that it is definitely a stag and not a horse, although if one glances at the coin quickly, it's possible to mistake it for a horse.
I also agree that they are antlers, possibly ringed with neck torcs. Hm... Miranda Green's 1984 work "The Wheel as a Cult-Symbol in the Romano-Celtic World: With Special Reference to Gaul and Britain" in Collection Latomus, volume 183. She has quite a catalog of artifacts in the back, including wheel symbols from all over the continent.
Would you like copies of artifacts from the area where this coin would found?
