Night was so dark, and silent. All the adults who were gathered together sat around the table in discussion of this new promised land. The children were all in bed now.
The men were all sitting with their staffs close at hand and girded with their sashes and sandals still.
Suddenly an eerie screech was heard and a heavy cold mist filled the air as if one were stepping into the cool waters of the Nile, after a hot day of labors.
A womans' scream was heard then another. The screams were growing louder and closer to our dwelling places. I could hear a dog howling in the distance....then another and another...
I heard the brushing as of dried hyssop up against the door. The wind outside had picked up now and there was a stinch in the air
as that of sickness or death.
Then just as suddenly as it all began, quietness fell again outside.
Surely the word of the Lord spoken by Moses had come to pass.
We sat a while longer in silence then Tayla began to sing praises
of deliverance in the midst of the silence.
What will morning bring. It soon would be here. Just a few more hours....
