Time for sakura flowers blooming in japan!
Cherry blossom viewing has been a Japanese custom since the 7th century when the aristocrats enjoyed looking at the cherry blossoms... and wrote poetry (and paint, too!). During spring cherry blossom (sakura) viewing parties and cherry blossom festivals are held all over Japan. A snack most appreciated for the picnic: dango, a chewy snack made of rice flour... obvioulsy!
Sakura is the national flower of Japan, and japanese have over four hundred varieties of cherry trees... I just learned that japanese cherry tree is different from other countries. The Japanese cherry tree does not yield fruit... well, I'm disappointed, I love cherries!
