As we sit in side our house eating the passover meal night has just fallen. An eerie hush is in the air. I can hear no birds in the trees calling as the night begins. This strange hush over the land has our children on edge as well. Suzannah and Daniel look at Shammah and I as they eat in silence their roasted lamb and unleavend bread. "Children what are you thinking right now?" Shammah asked. Daniel replies to his father,"How long do we have to wait for morning?" With a mothers perception and a quick glance towards Shammah, I said," The Lord our God is one God and His words will come to pass as He has spoken. Children we must trust in the Lord, take Him at His word. Your father and I have faith in Gods' word and the blood of the lamb over our doorposts and lintel as God has instructed by His servant Moses." Eat now children and off to bed with you." Tomorrow is the beginning of a brand new life free from the slavery that we have known thus many years." It will be exciting and full of wonder. Hopefully in this new land we will go to there will be plenty of fresh streams brooks to play beside and green fertile fields for lots of livestock and all the children will be able to play freely in the streets and the old people can sit outside their homes at their leisure without the fear of being in bondage again."
