The concept of a pre-adamic civilization is a little complicated and I'm not stating that I agree or disagree with it. But I can suggest that it is a plausible explanation of some of the facts that we do have. I find Mr. Moses to be a bit opinionated, and that's OK I guess. But it is more the study that I'm presenting than the author's opinions.
I take the following from:
Atheistic debate and Pre-Adamic Creation
Orin L. Moses III , Dec. 1996

"Faith was never meant to be ignorant, but based upon credible facts and evidences. A study of the Hebrew in Genesis one reveals that what we have is a re-creation out of the pre-existing materials from the original creation destroyed by a cataclysmic judgement of Satan and his cohorts."
"Now Pre-Adamic Creation is not a new idea; it has been around for awhile. It has also been known by some as the Gap Theory. But it is the only sound solution to the reconciliation of all this ostensibly contradictory data that must be collated within the human mind. I firmly believe that in many cases and situations, the truth always lies between two extremes. So, its been a long time, and the memory is foggy, but the salient points of this doctrine are reinforced with Hebrew linguistics, which give it credence, and which will not be apparent in any English translation of the Bible. For this reason alone, those who believe in six-day creation out of nothing have an excuse."
"Gen. 1:1: “In a, “BE”= (no definite article here) beginning, “RISHAH” = (eternity past) God” - his existence understood as a given without question - “created, “BARAH”= (out of nothing) the heavens, “SHAMAHIM”= (plural) and the earth.” Gen 1:2: “But the earth had become, “TOHU WA BOHU” without form and void...” - this is cataclysm - which would explain the disappearance of dinosaurs and other primitive species, as well as a pre-Adamic race of human beings, and could very well have been the conclusion of the billions and billions of years, as evidenced by modern geology in earth core samples. “REQUAM” is not used here, which means God did not mess up! Gen 1:2 cont’d: “...and darkness, “HASHEK”= (absolutely no light at all) ‘was’ (not in the text) over the face, “HAMAJIM”= (waters frozen over solid on the surface with waters churning beneath - the ice age) of the deep, “TEHOM”= (deep waters churning under the sea and the ground).” "
"Basically, what happened is that an absence of light caused the ice age to occur. The raging waters were used to churn the earth, destroying everything in the process, which then became frozen (Job 38:4-7; Isa. 14:12-14; Ezek20:11-19; Ezek 28). In other words, all life was destroyed on the face of the earth. This is not far removed from current theories regarding darkness precipitating the end of all life and the onset of an ice age. “And the Spirit of God was moving, “RAKACH”= (meaning to incubate) over the (frozen) waters.” God warmed the frozen earth. "
"God then created “ASAH”= (recreated out of preexisting materials, according to the Hebrew language), the earth and all that is in it in six days, and reordered the heavenly bodies as necessary. "
"Gen. 1:24-25: All were created after their kind, “MIN” = (species, or genus); God maintains the form of the creature within the creation which he created; thus there can be no “missing links” or transmutations. Some are unique, and some bear similarity, but each maintains its own identity, and only species of like kind can be cross-seeded. "

I know it sounds a little fanciful, it stretches the imagination and sort of shakes up what we may have thought or believed about creation and the really big picture. But its a theory that's out there.
Yehudit explained the Lilith concept very well. There is no scriptural reference to her. However, there are references to fallen angels sleeping with men creating an offspring race of giants.
Genesis 6:4 "There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare [children] to them, the same [became] mighty men which [were] of old, men of renown."
God frowned on the whole picture, sooo...
Genesis 6:5-8 "And GOD saw that the wickedness of man [was] great in the earth, and [that] every imagination of the thoughts of his heart [was] only evil continually. And it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart. And the LORD said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them. But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD."
