Thanks for all your work on this thread, as I've long found the Finnsburh Fragment and the "Finn Episode" in Beowulf to be two intriguing episodes in what is clearly the same story.
But I'm puzzled by this idea that the inclusion of a reference to the Finn Story in Beowulf somehow means that the poem has its "origins" in Frisia. Beowulf is part of an interwoven oral tradition of the entire North Sea area. It includes references to stories from many parts of that area and beyond - Ermanaric the Goth, the various kings of the Swedes and Danes, Finn and the Frisians etc. Just because it includes this story - in passing - why does that mean that Beowulf itself has its origins in Frisia?
