The day of the races begin! I’ve spent some time this morning trying to get a final list of all cities’ runners, when, where, and routes when known. So I’m posting at each city hoping that, if there are errors and changes, you’ll post them and let me know. Jot’s hoping to do some neat stuff showing who’s running and when, which is why I’m trying to help put this list together. Apologies for any errors, just correct if you will! Or you can e-mail me at sdmar@earthlink.net if you want to be kind and forgiving.

First, the BIG post showing the “codes” for picking up and handing off your torches can be found at Torchbearers Relay All torch runners need to read!

From everything I’ve found, this is what appears to be your city’s dates, volunteers, route, and running order. As for date changes – the rule is, anything after 12 AM Eastern Time. In other words, if the Babylonians are set to pick up the torch and run for this coming Sunday and Monday, they can begin posting anytime after 12 AM Sunday morning as long as the prior runner has “signed off!” Or they can be normal and wait until a decent hour on Sunday morning to start. I know, we should probably be using European time, but there are limits to what brains can accomplish . . .

EGYPT: Ya’ll have put up an excellent post on this, I’m just copying!

    Tuesday/Wednesday, March 26-27, 2002

Ahmes Amenhotep picks up at Megiddo from ApilIshtar sometime after midnight Monday night (actually, Tuesday morning)

She hands off at Pelusium to Oset Ramesses

Oset hands off at Saqqara to Persenti Nebit

Persenti hands off at Cyrene to Onions Hatshepsut

Onions hands off at Carthage to Betinas Mutemwiya

Betinas hands off at Gibralter to the first of the Macchu Picans, Lunita Amaru, sometime before midnight on Wednesday night/Thursday morning, March 28.

I think Egypt’s got more runners than anyone – great! Just remember to use the “transfer codes” shown on the link above whenever you’re ready to hand off and pick up.

I’ll post a rough draft of all the cities’ elsewhere, if you want to cross-check. Good luck!
