Celtic Tribes of the Danube Basin

Celtic Tribes in the Danube Basin

Here, after a great deal of mind-numbing net-surfing, is my first draft of the Map for the Celtic Tribes of the Danube Basin. I have learned so much about these marvelous people in the past week that my poor old brain is about to burst. Thanks to everyone who sent me input on this effort. I couldn't have done it without your help.

Please note that I have placed the various Tribes to the best of my new-found knowledge. If there are discrepancies, errors, or simple goofs, please let me know (here, or via a message at my home).

Two of my favorite resources were a collection of old Roman maps on the net:

    Roman Empire Maps

and a nine-volume set of "Ridpath's History of the World", printed in 1909. A bit "dated", but it has some fabulous etchings. Sadly, he did not write much on the Celts, but his histories of the early empires (Greek, Roman, Macedonian, etc.) are great fun to read.

I will provide something in the way of an historical write-up, late next week. I will be in absentia until Tuesday.
