Actually he also deserves a lawsuit for plagiarism since the machine he "invented" was last seen on the beaches of Normandy round 1944. It was called "the Crab" and consisted of a Sherman tank fitted with a roller in front to which chains were attached. The rotation of that flail set on arms at a reasonable distance from the Sherman exploded the mines along the way.
This device and several others, were nicknamed "Hobart's funnies", from the name of the perpetrator, Major general Percy Hobart.
As an aside, and logically, before he was taken out of retirement to help save lives on the Normandy beaches, Hobart was generally considered a total loony..

That is what Eisenhower thought of the guy after the war:
"Apart from the factor of tactical surprise, the comparatively light casualties which we sustained on all beaches, except OMAHA, were in large measure due to the success of the novel mechanical contrivances which we employed, and to the staggering moral and material effect of the mass of armor landed in the leading waves of the assault. It is doubtful if the assault forces could have firmly established themselves without the assistance of these weapons".

    Thank you general.
