Midwifes in ancient Egypt would have to be your sister, neighbour, friend, even mother - anyone who knew the trade by experience and handed down knowledge. Noteworthy is that the job as wetnurse otoh, was a recognized one in the upper classes, and in fact led to great status among women who were lucky enough to nurse a royal child.
The word swnw for physician, I´m not sure it´s the same one as is used for senet and sister, at least they are not written with the same glyphs - but now we´re deviating from the topic I think :)
