The number seven symbolizes the movement of life in space and time.
The seven days of the week, the seven colors of the spectrum, and the seven notes of the scale remind us that birth and death bear witness to eternal life in the eternal becomeing.
The end of the first millenium was a time that assumed immense signifigance to the supertitious and the devot, scholars and mystics found in the Revelation of St John the seven fold key to a new Christian spiritual pathway which became known to history as the search for the Holy Grail. The origens of this mystical quest reached far back into the distant past. The spiritual search for enlightenment owed much to its pagan ancestry and the traditions of Mesopotamia, Egypt and the Essenes.
The true teachings of Jesus were given new seeminly acceptable clothes in a repressive intolerant era. A form of spiritual alchemy influenced by the Sufi schools of Moorish Spain; a spiritual way of life enshrined in the mthology of Europe; Chretien dr Troyes and the Arthurian legends. This was the objective of the Christian knights whose history is still shrouded in mystery.
The Grail quest is not what it seems. There is a hidden agenda. The Grail literature is a coded guide to spiritual initiation.
