    The Palanthere(sp?) is what? I know what that it allows you too see or communicate with other people but what was the point of it in the story? Did it represent something? If it wasnt in the story would the story be different?

    And why is the ring made of Gold? why not silver? wasnt silver favored by Germanic tribes because it was lighter?
