Ideas for the Roman Academic Centers (128 posts)
    General Thread

Academic Centers will be areas for historical discussion, trivia, news, etc. In a sense they will be like public groups. Eventually, we will appoint editors to help nurture and grow the Academic Centers, but before the Gold launch of the site, they will be edited by site staff. The job of the editor is more that of helping to stimulate conversation and help facilitate related events. There might be ten to twelve Academic Centers in Rome. The final decision on the initial Centers will be made by site staff in the middle of May. Please use this thread to suggest ideas on what Centers would make the most sense forRome. ...

A new cross city group is being planned. The group, tentatively called "The Hearth" will focus on the daily life of the ancients. Each of our cities, including the soon to be launched, Orient, will have their own focus board with unique threads, a sort of "many groups within one" format. There will be plenty of information sharing as well as discussion and compare and contrast between the many diverse cities of Ancient Worlds. Also featured will be the ties between ancient daily life and modern, how did the inventions and ideals of the times past influence the current modern country? Do modern Egyptians farm the same way Ancient Egyptians did? Do modern day Athenians prefer the same types of foods their ancient counter parts did?

Before this new group can be launched I need to know if there is any interest in it. No need to waste my hard earned stc. if I'm the only one interested : ) If you're interested in the group, please just drop by my homesite and leave me a quick scroll letting me know.

Also, the group is in need of a Roman board leader. If you are knowledable about the daily life of your city and are interested in being the board leader please contact me. Trust me, you don't want this lowly Egyptian heading up your board out of necessity ;)
