I must have read Tain Bo Culinage about a hundred times, and still can't quite decide what to make of Queen Medb. She is spoken of as a woman of great power, and the author's tone seems to have no quarrel with the fact that she rules her own lands and pastures independently of her husband, who is also a King in his own right. Yet the way the cattle raid goes down, it is difficult to see if there is really a "good guy" or a "bad guy" in the story.
I plan to continue my investigation here. Does anyone else have any ideas?
