It's always nice to receive compliments! I'm sure Laurels speaks for all of us when she says we'll be sure Jot gets your suggestions. I'm not versed in Indian history, so I'll let Laurels' remarks stand alone, but as far as your suggestion for China: excellent choice! I find that Cheng Ho's seven history-making voyages took him as far west as Mogadishu and possibly to Madagascar, AND did so nearly a hundred years before Columbus. How did we miss him? (Then again, there must be so-o-o-o many we missed....)
We know so much about Columbus and Magellan and the great European explorers and yet so little of the great Oriental explorers. This is exactly what I, for one, have been hoping for — that the existence of our new city will give us all a chance to learn more about the history of this fascinating area of the world.
