The morning sunlight broke in through the open window. Tillius Cimber awoke. His open palm strained to block out the penetrating rays, but to no avail, he had a splitting headache. The room was still spinning as gave a grunt and rose to his feet.

With little more than a few hours of restless sleep, he had learned to accept what needed to be done. "I choose patriotism over friendship", he muttered to himself as he rummaged through his chest and removed his dagger from the contents. Again, the dazzling sunlight hurt his eyes as it flashed off the steel.

"DEMETRIUS!! Awake and dress me you fool!. I need my best purpled bordered toga. There is a Senate meeting that I must attend or did you forget?!" Upon hearing the scurrying of feet through the atrium, he continued with his business. Peeling off his tunic that he had worn through the day before, he slashed the garment into shreds. After he was dressed he would use the tattered pieces to securely hold his dagger underneath his left forearm and hide it under the folds of his toga. "For the people and Senate of Rome."
