I've been lurking around AW Egypt since I stumbled across AW a few months back. Quite frankly, when I got here, I found that there was already some "warfare" of sorts going on, control games, etc. And the site wasn't even set up! (and still isn't) I saw a lot of the attitude of "if it isn't my way, it's no-way". Now, that doesn't seem to me to be a productive way of running any type of place, whether it's a city here at AW or not. Some folks left quietly, stayed quietly, left in an indignant huff, or whatever. The 'net is a huge place, and if one doesn't want to play here, there are other places to go. And it's easier than ever to start your own place.

Personally, I never did any role-play at AS or other sites. I don't particularly "get it", although I know other folks love it. Great for them. I've always been interested in historical discussion. And since things are still in development here at AW, and I've yet to get the hang of Egypt (do you just go create your own topic, and then, .....whatever?) and the way things work, I'm just waiting to see how the site develops. But there are some distinct groups of folks here who I'm sure have their own agenda, as well as even more who want to come here and make friends, continue friendships, role-play, and discuss history. I just don't get the set up here. I don't see active groups for discussing Egyptian history. I don't have the time to run groups or however it's done here. I'm also confused at all the list of threads (or groups or whatever they are) on the Egypt page. Will some deity be cleaning this up? How are we supposed to know where to go to do what we are interested in?

I'm in central Europe, and so it's usually difficult for me to participate in site events that are geared primarily for time zones in the US. Sorry...moving it to midnight my time doesn't work. So much for my participation in trivia contests or whatever. I can't speak for others who are not participating (except for a few fellow members who live over here). So that may have something to do with the trivia thing, although I don't know.

Anyway, Azure Eyes and all, I hope that things start coming together in Egypt as well. Just wanted to put down a few of my observations.

    Best wishes.
