    Caesar glanced at Faberius and made a slight gesture; the secretaries tactfully departed.

    Smiling, he said "I noticed you were restless last night. Was it the storm? Or was it indigestion enhanced by Spurinna's long-winded warnings?"

    He brought her a cup of wine with his own hands. "Now, Calpurnia, I trust you put as little credence in such things as I do?"
