Lancelot trots up next to Sebile. They both pause, gazing at the enormous castle. Surrounded with heavy fog, only the top half of the castle is visible. Their eyes turn toward each other in disbelief. Still in semi-shock from the recent happenings, Lancelot turns to his men. “As far as we know Arthur...” He pauses to correct himself. “Our King, has been taken hostage along with the Queen.” As he speaks the words the complexity of the situation comes into view. “We will take no prisoners. We will storm the gates...”
“Lancelot.” Sebile interrupts.
He turns to her with eyes blazing. “What is it women?”
With that comment her eyes blaze back for a moment. She turns her head towards the castle. “Look.” Lancelot turns to see what see is speaking of. In front of the castle the thick fog recedes to reveal a large miss-shaped stone structure covered with ivy. It seems to encompass the whole area.
Lancelot stares at it in wonder. “What is it?” He asks without turning his head.
Sebile lets out a slight sigh. “A Labyrinth. It’s an enormous Labyrinth.” Sebile looks up to the sky in distress. She can feel the presence of evil near. Would her powers be able to overcome? “How do you propose we handle this?” She says quietly to Lancelot. The men now start to stir, seeing what lays ahead for them. Lancelot, eyes still fixed ahead, says nothing. “Lancelot?” Sebile raises her voice thinking she may not have been heard the first time.
All at once, Lancelot turns back to the men. “Three groups!” He shouts. “Bors.” He says as he looks for his fellow Knight. “You will lead one. Sebile,” He starts without looking her way. “Take your men with you. I will lead the third party.” He turns back toward the structure. “We cannot go around. We must head through. If you find a way to cheat this damned maze, do it! Be wary! There are many dangers ahead.” He stops and looks at his hand which is balled tightly into fist. “I feel it is so.” He says to himself.
“Why must we separate?” Sebile interjects.
“Why must you question me constantly? Do you not have eyes?” He points as he looks hard at Sebile, trying to burn a hole. “I see three openings. How many do you see? Three groups, three ways to go. Does that make sense? Chances are one of us will find a way in.” Sebile opens her mouth as to argue, but quickly bits her lip seeing the look in Lancelot’s eyes. She knows of his strong loyalty to the King. But his passion now, comes from his feelings for not his duty to the Queen. Sebile signals to her men to follow. Taking one last look at the Knight, she knows this passion will be his downfall in the end.
