Nothing against the other cities (worlds?) but we were hoping to prevent a multitude of boards and links that fell quickly into disuse causing confusion. We discussed the city set up for boards and threads quite a bit during an 'aw8' chat meeting hoping to solve just that problem in a way that everyone could agree with, or at least be happy with. We came up with the 3 board rule -
Academic (board) where threads within will be created to house posts for resources, military information, cross posting of academic posts made by folks under the Orient umbrella, etc.
Social (board) where threads would be created to house a 'tavern' of some sort (more on in another post), welcoming new members to The Orient, fielding interest for new groups, roleplay forums for any interested, etc.
Festival (board)-threads within to contain all springfest/octoberfest whatever fest topics (also will include an overall thread for announcing festival plans, start dates, awarding contest winners etc)
We've even discussed names for these boards, ones that will be obvious for what they contain but aren't too boring. When the board concept is completely laid out, we'll post it here for you. Nothing too crazy, and nothing left out, though in time the members may wish us to add or change things as we go. I've an open mind here, as do the rest involved in setting up this city/world.
