    Excellent maps.

Would Harold have been capable of raising 25,000 men after the battles of Fulford Gate and Stamford Bridge? Many of his men died, and many more had to be left behind on the way south to Hastings. I am not skilled in the sources for this exact time, but I am somwhat leary about estimates of armies that large. Was the Old English military system capable of producing that many warriors?
