Welcome to the group Swein. The Vikings and the English had many connections, as you say in your other post. You are definitely right in saying that we can often view the Vikings and the Anglo-Saxons as being totally different peoples. The Anglo-Saxons and the Franks can seem to us civilised, in opposition to the violent, pagan Vikings. You are certainly right to point out that the differences between the groups are much less than is popularly imagined!
