I enjoyed that story very much. My exposure to the myths and legends is scant. The most exposure I have had to Loki up till this point (altho I have known who he was, at least) is from the Fafhyrd and Mouser story where both Loki and Odin escape (are drawn to) the world of Newhon; the RL world we all know having disbelieved in the Norse gods for so long that they have faded into nothingness, or almost. Sorry, can't recall the title just now, but it was one of the better Fritz Leiber yarns.

Question tho: if Loki ever decides to weep for Balder, will he then come back to life ? It seems as tho there is no time limit on that condition (until Ragnarok at least).
