    I would prefer a more formal system.

    The initial case could be in more simplified terms but then the rest should be formal.

    For example:

    Case: Was King Tut murdered?

    The "prosecution" then presents his/her case (inc evidence) then the "defendant" presents his/her case (inc evidence).

    Both then cross-examine and chance for rebuttal.

    Judge then decides.
    What does everyone else think?
