    Shôgun Tokugawa Ieyasu

    Tokugawa Ieyasu 1543 - 1616.

    Few leaders in Japanese history are as difficult to gauge as Tokugawa Ieyasu.Japanese military leader and statesman, founder of the Tokugawa dynasty of shoguns. Born Matsudaira, Tokugawa Ieyasu was the last of the three unifiers who put Japan together again after the Warring States Period Tokugawa Ieyasu founded the shogunate in Edo (now Tokyo) in 1603 that endured for 15 generations and over 260 years.

    Rank Audience Room Catigory of Daimyo
    1st Grand Corridor (o-roka-zumi) Members of the three exaulted families ( sanke)
    2nd Lounge ( tama-rima -zume ) Members of the Masudaira families ( gokamon ) and the heriditary daimyo ( fudai )
    3rd Main Hall ( o-hiroma-zume ) Members of the Masudaira families ( gokamon ) , the heriditary daimyo ( fudai ), and of the "outside" daimyo ( tozama ) with over 100,000 koku in yearly income
    4th Reception Hall ( teikannoma-zume ) Members of the daimyo families of the third rank with less than 100,000 koku in yearly income
    5th Willow Room ( yanaginoma-zume 0 "Outside" daimyo ( tozama ) with less than 50,000 koku in yearly income
    6thWild Goose Room ( karinoma-zume ) Hereditary daimyo with ( fudai ) with less than 50,000 koku in yearly income
    7th Crysanthemum Room ( kikunoma-zume ) Daimyo with out castles ( mujo daimyo ) with a yearly income between 10,00 and 20,000 koku
    8th Other less celibrated halls other lords
